Syntax
Required Arguments
p
is a numeric constant, variable, or expression that specifies a probability of success.
| Range | 0 ≤ p ≤ 1 |
n
is a numeric constant, variable, or expression that specifies an integer number of independent Bernoulli trials.
| Range | n > 0 |
m
is a numeric constant, variable, or expression that specifies an integer number of successes.
| Range | 0 ≤ m ≤ n |
Details
The PROBBNML function
returns the probability that an observation from a binomial distribution,
with probability of success p and
number of trials n, produces m or
fewer successes. To compute the probability of exactly m successes,
compute the difference of two probabilities from the binomial distribution
for m and m−1
successes.
