Identifying the Winning Path Variant
Evaluate Path Variants
The overall winner is the path variant that performs best based on the data view or event that makes up the primary metric. Typically, the path variant with the greatest lift over the champion is recommended as the winner. The champion is recommended as the winner if the other path variants have a negative lift.
The path variant with the highest measured conversion rate is the baseline. In order for the path variant to be declared the winner, these conditions must be met:
- The unique visitor count meets or exceeds the estimated sample size.
- The lift, when the path variant is the challenger against every other path variant, meets or exceeds the threshold.
- The confidence for every pair involving the path variant meets or exceeds the threshold. The threshold defaults to 90%. For information about changing the default threshold in Applied Analytics, see Test in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide.
Performance information for each path variant is displayed on the Insights tab. For more information, see A/B Test Insights for Real-time Journeys.
Declare a Winner
When you declare a winner, the original real-time journey ends and a new one is created. In the new journey, the A/B Test node is replaced with the content of the winning path.
- On the Insights tab, click Declare Winner.
- Select the overall test winner that the system recommends or select another path variant as the winner.
- To activate the new real-time journey immediately, select Activate the new journey.
- Click Define Journey. All of the tasks in the original journey are duplicated and saved under a different name. You can edit the names of the new journey and the duplicated tasks. By default, the duplicated tasks are named taskname_copy. Click Edit task name format to change the default.
- Click Create Journey.
