Work with Audiences

Adding Items to an Audience

Use these options to manage criteria in the Criteria section:

  • Click Add criteria to add criteria or to group criteria. By default, the AND operator is selected for additional data items and groups. You can change this to an OR operator.
  • Click Copy criteria to make a copy of the selected criteria.
  • Click Move criteria up or Move criteria downor to move the criteria up or down in the list. The position determines the order in which the data is evaluated.
  • Click Remove selected criteria to delete criteria.
  • Click Update Count to refresh the member count for the audience. There are two counts, an estimate and an actual size.
    • An estimated size is calculated by the application before the audience is run. Otherwise, the estimated size shows the count of the previous successful run.
    • The actual size represents the count after an audience runs successfully.

Use these options to manage the attributes in the Attributes section:

  • Click Add to add criteria, attributes, or to group criteria. By default, the AND operator is selected for additional data items and groups. You can change this to an OR operator. Save your changes to see the attribute in other parts of the application.
  • Click Remove all attributes to delete all attributes.
Note: You cannot delete attributes that are in use by an active task.
  • Use the Add attributes from criteria option to add all of the attributes that are associated with the items in the Criteria section. This option is disabled if there are more than 30 attributes associated with the criteria, or if you have already added an attribute.

Managing an Audience

On the Audiences page, you can delete, copy, refresh, or rename an audience. Select multiple audiences to perform an action on them at once.

  • To edit an audience, click the audience name.
  • Click Delete selected audiences to delete selected audiences. The audience data that is associated with an audience is automatically removed from SAS Customer Intelligence 360 when the audience is deleted.
Note: You cannot delete an audience that is running or an audience that is used by an active task.
  • Click Refresh to refresh the list of audiences.
  • Click More and select Copy to create an audience. The new audience is created with the same audience data criteria and properties as the selected audience. Audience data for the new audience is not uploaded into SAS Customer Intelligence 360 until the audience is run.
  • Click More and select Rename to change the name of the audience. Changes to the audience name do not cause dependent items to become out-of-sync. Name changes are reflected throughout the application.

To stop the audience from running, navigate to the Orchestration tab for the audience and click Cancel Run.
