Prerequisites
Review these prerequisites before creating an audience:
- A data source must be configured for the external data source that you want to use. For more information, see Connecting to External Data Sources in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide.
- Make sure you have the correct
roles.
- You must be assigned the Audience Designer role to create and run audiences.
- You must be assigned the Audience Data Viewer role to run data previews.
- You must be assigned the Segment Designer and Publisher roles to create and run audiences that use SAS 360 Direct segments.
For more information, see List of Roles in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide.
- As a best practice, audiences should not exceed five million members. Any audience that exceeds five million members for more than 14 days is automatically paused. Tasks that use a paused audience cannot run successfully.
- An audience is automatically paused by the application when it reaches six million members.
- By default, a segment is exported to an
/install/CI_Assets/Exportsdirectory on the SAS Customer Intelligence 360 on-premises server before it is loaded as an audience. To change the export location for an audience, contact SAS Technical Support to update the value for the following tenant property: sas.mkt.audience.onprem.export.folder.To ensure that exports are successful, make sure that the export location exists on premises and has sufficient space to contain the export files. In addition, it is recommended that you periodically delete or archive old export files.
IMPORTANT You can change the default export location for on-premises tasks and audiences by updating thedm.override.export.output.locationparameter in the cionprem.properties file. However, changing this parameter changes the default location for all on-premises items, except for direct marketing tasks.
