External Applications

About External Applications

External events can be generated by on-premises applications and injected into SAS Customer Intelligence 360. The events can then be used in other items such as tasks or journeys, similar to events that are generated by SAS Customer Intelligence 360.

For an external event to be processed, the external event must be received from an external application that has a definition in SAS Customer Intelligence 360. When you create a definition for an external application, the definition includes an application ID. This application ID should be used in the payload of any events that are sent by the external application. The ID enables SAS Customer Intelligence 360 to associate the external event with the correct application.

Note: If an external event is received with an invalid application ID or if the ID is missing, the event is ignored.
