About Mobile Tasks
A mobile task delivers targeted content to mobile users and collects information that you can use to monitor how the task is performing. You can then engage with and deliver content to those customers through your mobile application.
Types of Mobile Tasks
These are the types of mobile tasks that you can create:
- Mobile in-app message task. Use this task to deliver a notification that is displayed while a user is active in a mobile application. For more information, see Create a Mobile In-App Message Task.
- Mobile push notification task. Use
this task to deliver a notification that is displayed while a user is not active
in a mobile application. Push notification messages are displayed while the user
is not active in the mobile app. The intent of a push notification is to
encourage the user to open the app.
- You can create a bulk push notification task that delivers messages at the same time.
- You can create a triggered push notification task that delivers messages only when the specific trigger event criteria is met.
Note: Enabling mobile messaging requires proper configuration of the mobile app and SAS Customer Intelligence 360. For more information, see Enable Mobile Messaging in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide. - Mobile spot task. Use this task to display a message on a specific spot within a mobile application. For more information, see Create a Standard Mobile Spot Task.
- Mobile A/B test task.
Use this task to compare the effectiveness of multiple creatives against
your target audience.
For more information about A/B testing, see About A/B Testing.
You can open a task or create a new task from the Tasks page. To access the items that a task
uses and see information about the task, navigate through the different
tabs.
Including Mobile Tasks in Real-time Journeys
Tasks can be published on their own or included as
part of a real-time journey. A real-time journey enables you to create and orchestrate
your interactions with customers in real time by using tasks and conditions. When
the
task that you are creating is part of a larger plan for customer interaction, include
that task in a journey. Tasks that are created from the
Tasks interface can be added to a journey after they have been
created. However, a task cannot be added to a journey after the task has been published.
You can also create a task from within a journey. You can create a task from a journey,
or you can include an existing task in a journey. Active and Completed tasks cannot
be
included in an journey. For more information, see About Real-time Journeys.
