Set Up Approvals

You can require that an item be approved before it is published. By adding an approval to an item, you are enforcing an approval workflow that ensures stakeholders review an item before it can be published.

Approvals for Plan Items

By default, approvals are enabled for all planning items at all of the levels in the marketing hierarchy. When you configure levels in a marketing hierarchy, you can enable or disable workflows and approvals for each planning level.

For more information, see Edit and Configure a Marketing Hierarchy.

Enabling Approvals

Note: These instructions do not apply to approvals for plan items. For information about approvals in plan items, see Approving Planning Items in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: User’s Guide.

Prerequisites

You must have sufficient administrative rights to access Administration Administration. For example, if you have a Super Admin role or if you have a Configuration Admin role, you can enable approvals.

Steps to Enable Approvals

  1. Click Administration Administrationthen selectGeneral. Click Approvals in Application Settings.

  2. Select the items that you want to enable approvals for.
  3. Click Save to save and apply the changes.

Determining Who Can Approve Items

When an approval is added to an item, the approvers are selected from an existing list. In order for a user to be listed as an approver for an item, the following information must be true:

  • The user must have the Approver role assigned.
  • The user must have the appropriate role to view the item that they need to approve.

For example, if you need to approve a real-time journey, you must have the Approver role assigned and you must have sufficient rights to view journeys.

TipBy default, administrators are displayed in the list of people who can approve an item.
