The MPS-Format Data Table

OBJSENSE Section (Optional)

The OBJSENSE section contains the sense of the objective. The objective sense is specified by the indicator code in field2 as follows:

  • MIN: minimization objective

  • MAX: maximization objective

  • Indicator record:

Notes:

  • The objective sense that is specified in this section supersedes the objective sense that is set in the ROWS section, but the objective sense that is set using the OBJSENSE= option in the solver supersedes the objective sense that is set in the MPS-format data table.
