Applying the Laplace Operator Using the processImages Action
This section contains Python code. For more information about coding in Python, see Getting Started with SAS Viya for Python and SAS Viya: System Programming Guide.
The following Python code uses the LAPLACIAN function in the processImages action to apply the Laplace operator to all images in the imgs input table and writes the resulting images into the imgsOut output table. This code assumes that the imgs table is loaded in advance.
s.image.processImages(
casout={'name':'imgsOut'},
imagefunctions=[
{'options':{
'functiontype':'LAPLACIAN',
'kernelsize':1,
'delta':0,
'scale':1
}}
],
table={'name':'imgs'}
)
Figure 37 shows the original image, and Figure 38 shows the processed image.

Figure 38: Processed Image

Note that Figure 37 is a three-channel image and that the Laplace operator is applied to all channels. Therefore, the resulting image is still a three-channel image.
