Apply a New SAS Visual Investigator License Using Ansible

To apply a new license using Ansible, first see Apply New Licenses Using Ansible in SAS Viya Administration: Licensing. Once you have completed that procedure, perform the following steps that are specific to SAS Visual Investigator.

Note: To add a new license without using Ansible, see Apply a New SAS Visual Investigator License Manually.
  1. This step applies only to SAS Visual Investigator 10.6 and earlier. Restart all of the SAS Visual Investigator services.
  2. This step applies only to SAS Visual Investigator 10.7 and later. Refresh the cached license in the SAS Visual Investigator services by performing one of the following options, as appropriate:
    1. Restart all of the SAS Visual Investigator services.
    2. Edit the global logging configuration through SAS Environment Manager.
      1. On the Configuration page, select All services from the drop-down list.
      2. In the Navigation pane, select the Global service.
      3. Next to the logging configuration instance, click Edit Icon. If there is no logging configuration instance, create it following the steps in Step 2c below.
      4. In the Edit Configuration window, note the current value of the level property and then change it (for example, from INFO to WARN). If the level property does not exist, create it by clicking + Add property.
        Note: Changing the global logging level triggers a refresh for every service.
      5. Click Save to update the logging configuration.
      6. Repeat steps Step 2b.iii - Step 2b.v to set the logging level back to the previous value, if it had one.
    3. Create a new global logging configuration through SAS Environment Manager.
      1. On the Configuration page, select All services from the drop-down list.
      2. In the Navigation pane, select the Global service.
      3. If there is a logging configuration instance in the list, update it following the steps in Step 2b . Otherwise, click New Configuration.
      4. Select logging from the list of configurations.
      5. Click + Add property.
      6. Enter level for the name and INFO for the value, and click Save.
      7. Click Save to create the new logging configuration.

Apply a New SAS Visual Investigator License Manually

To apply a new license manually, first see Apply New Licenses Manually in SAS Viya Administration: Licensing. Once you have completed that procedure, perform the following steps that are specific to SAS Visual Investigator.

  1. This step applies only to SAS Visual Investigator 10.6 and earlier. Restart all of the SAS Visual Investigator services.
  2. This step applies only to SAS Visual Investigator 10.7 and later. Refresh the cached license in the SAS Visual Investigator services by performing one of the following options, as appropriate:

      4. Select logging from the list of configurations.
      5. Click + Add property.
      6. Enter level for the name and INFO for the value, and click Save.
      7. Click Save to create the new logging configuration.
