setMaxUnboundedLength Method

Sets the maximum length for unbounded data types.

Syntax

setMaxUnboundedLength ( value )

Required Argument

value

specifies the maximum length, in bytes, for unbounded data types (such as BLOB, CLOB, TEXT, or long STRING types) when they are Read into the SAS Embedded Process. The method ensures consistent handling of very large character or binary columns from the database. If data in an input column exceeds the set maximum value, truncation could occur during Read. Truncation could occur during Write, but only for an output column that is also an input column. The option does not apply to any output column that is not an input column. Type: int.

Default32767 bytes

Details

Java signature:

public void setMaxUnboundedLength( int value )

Example

Here are some examples:

  • Python: mymodel.setMaxUnboundedLength(2048)
  • Scala: mymodel.setMaxUnboundedLength(2048)
