Sharing Projects

When you create a project, you become the project owner and the project is kept in private mode so that only you can view or edit it. You can share the project with other users and groups.

Note: If you intend to share a project with other users, you must store your data in a location that is accessible to all those other users.

When you share a project, you must specify how other users can access the project.

To share a project that you own:

  1. On the Projects page, click Options on the tile for the project and select Share.
    Project menu option Share

    The Share window is displayed.

Note: If you are viewing the project list as a table, select the project and click Additional actions for project on the upper right of the page and select Share.

You can select multiple projects to share.

  2. Enter the name of one or more users or groups.

    Share window

  3. For each list of users, select the access level on the right.
    • Can read — the users can only view the project and cannot make any changes
    • Can read and edit — the users can view and make changes to the project

You can add a separate group of users by clicking add.

  4. When you are finished, click Share to close the window and return to the projects page.

The project is now shared. You can open the Share window again if you need to change or remove access for any users. To change the level of access for any user, click Edit.

To change users' access level, follow these steps.

  1. Click Options on the tile for the project and select Share.
  2. Click Edit sharing. This opens the Edit Sharing window.
  3. For each user, you can change their access to Read, Read and edit, or, to remove their access, select Unshare.

For users that have access to your project, you can send them links that take them directly to these specific locations in the project.

For each action, the Copy Link window is opened. Click Copy Link. The link is copied to your clipboard and the window is dismissed. You can paste the link in any communications that you send to the other users. It will take them directly to the tab, pipeline, or node that you copied the link from.

Note: These actions are not available for pipelines nested within a segmented pipeline.
