Sequence Scaling

The working input sequence can be scaled to the working target sequence. Sequence scaling is applied after normalization. Let y Subscript j be the working target sequence with mean mu Subscript y and standard deviation sigma Subscript y. Let x Subscript i be the working input sequence and let q Subscript i be the scaled sequence. The scaling is defined as follows:

  • Standard is the standard normalization

q Subscript i Baseline equals left-parenthesis x Subscript i Baseline minus mu Subscript y Baseline right-parenthesis slash sigma Subscript y
  • Absolute is the absolute scaling

    q Subscript i Baseline equals left-parenthesis x Subscript i Baseline minus min left-parenthesis y Subscript j Baseline right-parenthesis right-parenthesis slash left-parenthesis max left-parenthesis y Subscript j Baseline right-parenthesis minus min left-parenthesis y Subscript j Baseline right-parenthesis right-parenthesis
  • User-defined is a user-defined scaling created by the FCMP procedure.
